There are many people today who don’t know about the moral code (law of God) established by God in the Old Agreement (Testament). There are many who don’t know about Jesus and what He has to say about the law of God. Missing God’s goal (aka sin) is still sin.
If I know the law of God and sin I will be judged accordingly. Can I be content to only hear and know what God’s goal for me is? Nope. I must act on what I know. I must do what Jesus commands. Doing is what makes a difference with God.
When atheists and agnostics, who have never heard of God’s law follow it more or less by instinct, they confirm its truth by their obedience. We know we shouldn’t murder. Besides the fact it is “the law”, we know in our hearts it is wrong.
The God-deniers and God-haters show that God’s law is not something alien, imposed on us from without, but woven into the very fabric of our creation. There is something deep within us that echoes God’s yes and no, right and wrong. Our response to God’s yes and no will become public knowledge on the day God makes his final decision about every man and woman.
The Message from God that we proclaim through Jesus the Messiah takes into account all these differences. God is God and God will judge fairly. Our job is to make known that when we don’t obey, there is a penalty for that. Jesus paid the penalty.
I am free of my debt and I must obey my Master Jesus. That is all that matters.
