Here are articles on some of our priority focus areas.

  1. Their First Request Is for Us to Pray – What can we do about the persecution of fellow followers of Jesus? Check this out from Tyndale. “Brothers and sisters in Christ around the world are losing their livelihoods, families, homes, even their own lives because of their faith. It can be overwhelming to hear their stories. We might think, What can I do? When field leaders from The Voice of the Martyrs (VOM) meet with persecuted Christians to bless and encourage them, they also inquire about unmet needs. Often, the first request of the persecuted is “Pray for us!” For many of them, the greatest gift they can receive is knowing they are being covered in prayer by their worldwide Christian family. That is something we can do, and The One Year Pray for the Persecuted Bible can help guide us.” More …

  2. Study Confirms Banning Abortions Saves the Lives of Unborn Children – Here is some good news about our advocacy work for the lives of babies in the womb. “Last week, the Los Angeles Times published an article by Carnegie Mellon professor Wendy Goldman analyzing abortion policy in the former Soviet Union, which in 1920 became the first country to legalize abortion. But later concerns about low birth rates concerned Soviet officials and led Josef Stalin to make abortion illegal in 1936. Those who performed abortions could be sentenced to three years in prison, and women who obtained abortions could face fines. Abortion remained illegal in the former Soviet Union until 1955, two years after Stalin’s death.” More …
  3. Based on False Assumption, Amazon Still Censoring Book on Transgenderism – Corporate media bias about transgenderism must be called out. “For three years, Amazon sold Ryan Anderson’s book When Harry Became Sally: Responding to the Transgender Moment. Then, last February, the book disappeared from Amazon’s virtual shelves. Anderson — president of the Ethics and Public Policy Center, a conservative research institute — first learned his book was being censored when he received a message from someone who wanted to buy the book, but could not find it on Amazon. “So, I pull up my Amazon app, and the hardback is gone, the paperback editions gone, the Kindles gone, the audiobooks gone, even the used copies,” Ryan told The Daily Signal. The author contacted his book agent and then the publisher. No one knew why Amazon had suddenly stopped selling When Harry Became Sally.” More …

  4. What Is the Role of Personal Testimony When Proclaiming Jesus? – This is an important question for our work in apologetics. “Most Christians share Jesus by telling others about their personal stories of transformation or their personal experiences. How can we leverage our personal stories in a more powerful way? In this clip, recorded when he was serving with Stand to Reason, J. Warner provides a response to this question.” More …

  5. Parents Speak Out: NCAA Rules Let Trans Swimmers Trample ‘All over Biological Women’ – God made us men and women. All else is a lie. “Several parents of University of Pennsylvania swimmers are speaking out about a high-profile transgender athlete who has broken multiple records, arguing that the NCAA must change its rules in order to bring fairness back to meets for biological females.” More …

  6. Biden’s Lack of Shelf-Respect – The supply chain is a real issue that affects our pocketbooks. Pray for wisdom for policies that provide economic growth for us to afford the basics. “From filet mignon to rapid tests. If you ask local grocers, that’s the story of 2022 — empty shelves, frustrated customers, record-high sick days, and a host of other problems they pin directly on the government. Two weeks ago, the best-selling item at New England’s Stew Leonard’s supermarket was steak. Now, the owner says, his truckers are in loading-dock bidding wars over COVID tests. Welcome to the alternate universe of the Biden administration, where we’ve beaten the virus, the CDC is above politics, and our supply chain crises never happened.” More …
  7. Can We Watch These Olympics in Good Conscience? – China is an extreme atheist country which murders and persecutes Christians. Please pray for their safety. I do not plan on watching any of the Olympics! “The upcoming Winter Olympics in Beijing appear set to be a moral disaster, raising the question of whether Americans can watch the events in good conscience; the Federal Aviation Administration enacts a brief but wide-ranging ground stop for “some sort of national security threat” but doesn’t want to give many details; unity tickets are a dumb idea, and Tom Friedman is a dumb columnist for promoting them; and your favorite newsletter writer lays out how Omicron is different in a new venue.More …

  8. The Crisis of Moral Legitimacy – This article raises some curious inconsistencies with a Woke Worldview. “When I ask a room full of students why someone might support using race in determining college admissions, they usually have a few answers ready. They offer reasonable points like, “to offset historical and current disadvantage” or “because of the unique challenges that members of underrepresented groups face.” But the opposite question—why someone might oppose the use of race in college admissions—often yields one response: racism. When pressed, few students can come up with alternative suggestions; they struggle to think of any principled reason why someone might take that position. The asymmetry in the students’ ability to produce morally reasonable arguments for both positions is particularly notable given that, according to Pew, 73% of Americans agree with the statement that “colleges and universities should not consider race or ethnicity when making decisions about student admissions.” More …
